Mardi Himal Trek is a newly launched popular trekking destination in the Annapurna region. This trekking trail was opened in 2012. It is one of the most exciting trekking trails, which offers an amazing and beautiful view of Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, and Annapurna range. This trekking route passes through lush forests, dramatic view of up and downhill landscapes, traditional Gurung and Magar villages as well as breathtaking scenery of a wide range of snowcapped high Himalayas.

Mardi Himal Trekking is a trek to mount Mardi, which stands about  5,587  meters high from the sea level. The highest point of this trekking route is the Base camp of Mount Mardi, which is located at 4500 meters/14, 510 ft. Our Short trek to Mardi Himal base, helps you discover the mythical and breathtaking Himalayan peaks of the Annapurna region.

View from Mardi advance base camp 4700m-SEA CLOUD

Mardi Himal Trekking is a fairly short trek route and less crowded while compared to other trekking trails of Nepal. We stay at beautiful teahouses and enjoy the delicious local Nepali food witnessing the beautiful Nepali culture on our route. The entire trekking route passes through easy terrain filled with paddy fields and incredible views of various mountains of the Annapurna range. A trek to Mardi Himal brings you to the unknown corner of the Annapurna region where you can have a peaceful time along with the discovery of the beautiful village life of Nepal.

Pokhara is a metropolitan city in the Western region of Nepal. It is a valley cradled amongst mountains and hills with meandering rivers. It is a major tourist destination due to its panoramic views. Once you enter the vicinity of this city, you are greeted with magnificent views of the mountains and Mt. Fishtail (6993m). The Dhaulagiri range and Annapurna range tower majestically over the green valley. For someone who has been living in Kathmandu for years, the greenery of this city always takes me by surprise.

Pokhara is the city of lakes. There are several lakes in Pokhara and the prominent ones are Fewa Lake, Rupa Lake, and Begnas Lake. Among these lakes, Fewa Lake is by far the most beautiful lake. Nestled on a little island on Fewa Lake is the Barahi Temple. For a small charge, you can go on a boat ride on this lake. The sunlight reflects on the lake and glitters and the mountains smile upon us in the reflection.

You can walk on the Lakeside enjoying the sight which is an incredible experience. I regret the fact that when I was a resident here in Pokhara I overlooked its charms. Lakeside is even prettier in the late evenings, under the soft glow of lamp posts hung upon the creatively built restaurants and shops. You can dine here while enjoying live entertainment. Other attractions of Pokhara are Davis’ Fall which is a beautiful waterfall, International Mountain Museum, and World Peace Pagoda. Then there is Sarangkot which is a towering hill that offers a magnificent view of Pokhara from its hilltop and you can do many sports adventures paragliding, cycling, boating, Zip Flyer, bungee jump, Ultra Light Flight and Annapurna Base camp Heli tour.
